Terms of use
These terms apply to itconsultancy.org and the free website and office IP security checks.
Use of the free tools
You may use the free checks only for domains and public IP addresses that you own or are expressly authorised to assess. By submitting a target you confirm that you have that authority. You must not use the tools to harass, disrupt or gain unauthorised access to any system.
Daily limits
Each email address and target may be checked once per day, and each connection is limited to a small number of checks per day. We may change or withdraw the free allowance at any time to protect the service.
Active IP checks
The active port check is optional and only runs after you confirm authorisation. It sends limited TCP connection attempts to common ports. It does not exploit vulnerabilities, brute force credentials or attempt to access data. We log the authorisation and may refuse or stop a check at any time.
No guarantee
The checks are indicative external posture assessments. They are not a penetration test, security audit or guarantee that a system is secure. Results may be incomplete, delayed or affected by network conditions, third-party data or changes made by your provider. You remain responsible for your systems and for any remediation.
Intellectual property
The site content, design and reports are owned by IT Consultancy or its licensors. You may use your report internally for your own organisation. Do not republish or resell it without permission.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, data or business, arising from use of the free tools or reliance on a report. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
